Executive Summary
Eersterust Care and Training Centre, dedicated to supporting children and young adults with mental disabilities, is
excited to introduce the “Adopt a Project” initiative. This program aims to engage individuals, businesses, and
community groups in directly sponsoring specific projects that enhance the quality of life, education, and overall
well-being of our beneficiaries. By adopting a project, sponsors will play an active role in creating meaningful
opportunities for growth, inclusion, and empowerment within this vulnerable population.
This proposal outlines the objectives, benefits, structure, and expected outcomes of the “Adopt a Project” initiative,
inviting stakeholders to partner with us in transforming lives through targeted interventions.
Introduction
Children and young adults with mental disabilities often face significant barriers to accessing resources, education,
and social integration. At Eersterust Care and Training Centre, we believe every individual deserves equal
opportunities to thrive. Our programs focus on fostering independence, building confidence, and promoting inclusive
environments where these young people can reach their full potential.
The “Adopt a Project” initiative provides a unique opportunity for supporters to contribute meaningfully to our
mission by funding specific projects tailored to address critical needs. Whether it’s improving educational facilities,
organizing recreational activities, or providing therapy services, each project aligns with our core values and goals.
Objectives
1. Empower Beneficiaries: Provide access to essential tools, therapies, and experiences that support personal
development.
2. Engage Supporters: Create a direct connection between donors and the impact of their contributions.
3. Sustain Programs: Ensure long-term financial stability for key initiatives that benefit our beneficiaries.
4. Raise Awareness: Highlight the challenges faced by children and young adults with mental disabilities while
showcasing solutions.
How It Works
1. Project Selection
We have identified several high-impact projects that align with our strategic priorities. These include:
• Educational Resources: Purchase of specialized learning materials, technology, and equipment.
• Therapeutic Services: Expansion of counselling, physiotherapy, music therapy, and occupational therapy
programs.
• Recreational Activities: Development of sports programs, outdoor adventures, and creative workshops.
• Facility Improvements: Renovation of classrooms, sensory rooms, or common spaces.
• Skill Development Workshops: Training programs focused on vocational skills, life skills, and employment
readiness.
Each project comes with a detailed budget, timeline, and measurable outcomes.
2. Adoption Process
Individuals, companies, or organizations can choose to adopt one or more projects based on their interests and
capacity. Sponsors will receive regular updates on progress, including photos, videos, and stories from participants.
3. Recognition and Engagement
Sponsors who adopt a project will be recognized as partners in our mission. Recognition includes:
• Naming rights for the project (e.g., “The ABC Company Sensory Room”).
• Invitations to events and ceremonies celebrating milestones.
• Opportunities to visit and interact with beneficiaries.
• Annual reports detailing the impact of their contribution.
Benefits to Sponsors
By participating in the “Adopt a Project” initiative, sponsors gain:
1. Tangible Impact: Direct involvement in making a difference in the lives of children and young adults with
mental disabilities.
2. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Enhanced brand reputation and alignment with ethical business
practices.
3. Tax benefit – We can issue a section 18A PBO certificate on the value of the donation which can be used as a
tax deduction when doing your tax return to SARS
4. Community Engagement: Strengthened relationships with local communities and stakeholders.
5. Personal Fulfilment: The satisfaction of contributing to a noble cause and witnessing its positive effects
f
irsthand.
Expected Outcomes
1. Improved access to resources and services for children and young adults with mental disabilities.
2. Increased awareness about the importance of inclusivity and accessibility.
3. Stronger partnerships between Eersterust Care and Training Centre and local businesses, governments, and
individuals.
4. Long-term sustainability of vital programs and services.
